I received my Reflexology training by Hanne Marquardt's International School of Foot Reflexology in Germany. It was a few years later before I met her in person in one of her workshops, which for me was a memorable experience. Her professional skills were graced with charisma, humor and enthusiasm. She easily portrayed the "way of doing" and shared a lot of knowledge and hints that can't be found in books. Her style included the use of idioms, which reflected centuries old wisdoms. Truly a sincere and gifted teacher, intuitive and sensitive to the needs of her students. A bit of information that I will always remember, which may seem elementary, but easily forgotten is "work with your fingers, spare and take care of your thumbs". I am looking forward to meeting Hanne again in September during the Kelowna conference. — Helga Petersen
